The next meeting will be on Wednesday, January 8 at 7:30 PM at the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW-4809) 2135 Bartee St., Norfolk, 23502 (next to the Military Hwy Toys-R-Us)  Note: the meeting will be held in the smaller room located at the left rear of the VFW.  The large hall is being renovated.

Bill J. will present a program on silver Dollars for our "Annual Silver Dollar Night." February's program will be on "Presidents", past & present.

January is our annual membership renewal month.  Dues are $12.00/adult and $3.00/youth under 18.  Members not required to submit dues are Life Members ($100.00 one time fee), Honorary Life Members, and members who joined late in the year.  Make check payable to Tidewater Coin Club, Inc.  Dues may be paid at the meeting or mailed to Paul A.  (See the paper newsletter for the address.)

Young Numismatist Quiz:  What is the difference in Type I and Type II in the 1886 Indian cent?  YN advisor, Jack L.

January Coin Game:  bring a U.S. silver dollar, 1878 - 1935.  The November winner was Mike S.

New Members in December:  None.

Long-Term Raffle:  Congratulations to Shawn A. for winning the 1921-D “Mercury” dime in G condition.  The April raffle will be for a 1946 uncirculated set of Booker T. Washington commemorative half dollars.  The long-term raffle is for club members and any quantity of chances may be purchased.  See Jack L. at the meeting to record your $1.00 per chance donation.

The club is always interested in items to be used for the long-term raffles, regular raffles, and door prizes.  Everyone likes a bargain, but we pay fair prices for accepted items.  If you have items, contact Guy C.

Club members are invited to attend the monthly Board meeting.  The next meeting will be February 3 at 7:30 PM.  (See paper newsletter for directions.)
