The next meeting will be Wednesday, August 11, 7:30 PM. This month's program will be an auction of 100 lots. John K. will present the September program, a lecture on "The History of the Morgan Dollar". New members in July: Edward F. COIN SHOW RAFFLE TICKETS WILL BE PASSED OUT THIS MEETING The book contains 11 raffle tickets. The club receives $10 for each booklet. The 11th ticket is yours for obtaining donations for our club. Everyone is expected to participate in our annual fund raising event. Return the money, ticket stubs, or unsold tickets at next month's meeting or mail them to Tidewater Coin Club, PO Box 5247, Virginia Beach, VA 23471-5247. Make checks payable to Tidewater Coin Club, Inc. If additional books are needed, contact Paul A. at the number listed in the paper newsletter. Jim B. will have supplies available at the meeting. Polo Shirts are available for pick up at this meeting. The cost is $28.00. Young Numismatist Quiz: What is the difference between
the large letter and small letter 1858 Flying Eagle cent? Coin Game this month: Bring a US cent (1800 - 2004). Be prepared to give a short history of the coin. Last month's winner was Gene F. Drawing this month for the1930-S Standing Liberty Quarter in XF-45 condition. October's raffle will be for a 1975 Barbados One Hundred dollar gold coin in proof condition. The long-term raffle is for club members and any number of chances may be purchased. See Jack L. at the meeting to record your $1.00/chance donation. Club members are welcome to attend the monthly Board meeting. The next meeting will be Monday, August 30, at 7:30 PM. (See paper newsletter for details and directions.) A Sympathy card was sent to the family of Sam C. Sam died in early June. Coin Show September 04 at the VFW, 10 am - 5 pm. This is not a club-sponsored event. Bring a friend to the meeting. |
