The next meeting will be Wednesday, September 10, 7:30 PM. September's program will be on the grading and pricing of coins. October's program will be a lecture and discussion on "Dealing with Dealers." November's program will be a lecture on Spanish coins presented by Bob K. December will be the Annual Holiday Party. Jim B. will have supplies available at the meeting from 7:00 - 8:00 PM. If you are interested in getting rolls of "D" mint state quarters, see Jim about this also. Coin Show Raffle Booklets: Please return the ticket stubs, money or unused tickets to Paul A. at the meeting or mail them to the address in the paper newsletter. To ensure reception of the tickets before the show, mail them by October 1. Make checks payable to: Tidewater Coin Club, Inc. New member in August: Paul V. The annual election of Board members will be in November. Nominations are in October. George S. will not be able to attend the November meeting. George is the Master-at-Arms and in charge of attendance/refreshments/door prizes. Someone please volunteer to sit with him this month and next so as to learn all that he does and substitute for him in November. Congratulations to Bill H. for winning the 1944-S Walking Liberty half dollar in CH BU condition. October's raffle will be for an 1883-O Morgan Dollar, MS-63 (NGC). December's raffle prize will be a Lincoln Cent, 1909-VDB, MS-65. The long-term raffle is for club members and any number of chances may be purchased. See Jack L. at the meeting to record your $1.00/chance donation. The club is always interested in items to be used for the long-term raffles, regular raffles, and door prizes. Everyone likes a bargain, but we pay fair prices for accepted items. If you have items, contact Guy C. Club members are invited to attend the monthly board meeting. The next meeting will be September 29 at 7:30 PM. (See paper newsletter for directions.) A Get Well card was sent to Glenn N. Glenn broke a leg and is at Sentara Norfolk General. His break was severe and recovery will be long. Bring a friend to the meeting. |
