The Tidewater Coin Club (TCC) is a non-profit organization dedicated to the numismatic needs of collectors in the Tidewater Virginia area and to education regarding the history of coinage. The Club was established in February 1956 and has met continuously since then. At present, the club has over 150 members. Regular club meetings are held on the second Wednesday of each month at 7:30PM at the Norfolk VFW Lodge on Bartee Street in the Military Circle area. TCC Board meetings are held on the first Monday of the month at 7:30PM. January is the annual membership renewal month.

Each meeting features an educational program on some aspect of numismatics. Recent program topics have been the History of the New Orleans Mint, Collecting Foreign Coins, Collecting Ancient Coins, Silver Dollars, the Lincoln Cent, Collecting with Kids & Family, the Twenty-cent piece, Cypriot Coins, the Twelve Caesars, WWII Ration Stamps, The Seven New Wonders of the World, The History of the Columbian Half Dollar, The US Gold Coins of 1940, Hobo Nickels, and Elongated cents. Numismatic exhibits, door prizes, raffles, and refreshments are also part of the meeting. Our next meeting is Wednesday, January 11, 2012.

The next Board meeting will be Monday, January 30, 2012 at 7:30 PM on the Virginia Beach campus of Tidewater Community College, in room H-248 of the Advanced Technology Center. Click here for directions.

We sponsor two coin shows each year - one in the spring and one in the fall. Our next coin show will be February 18 & 19, 2012 at the Virginia Beach Convention Center. The shows are attended by many dealers from around the area.
